Stamina is a dynamic variable that exists in every racehorse. Each racehorse has its own Stamina variable, which means that each racehorse has its own S curve that governs the rate at which it exhausts.
Some racehorses will take longer than others to reach 0% Stamina. This is all part of the learning process for stable owners. It is the responsibility of each stable owner to identify and determine their racehorse's stamina and pace of recovery.
Within a 24-hour period, a racehorse will exhaust with every consecutive race run. This means that a racehorse cannot run at the highest potential rate of the preceding race for each consecutive race in a 24-hour period.
The form of the S curve distinguishes each racehorse. A racehorse's stamina will start to regenerate based on how long it has been since it last raced. It will not fully regenerate until the number of races in the past 24 hours reaches the beginning of the S curve.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When a racehorse loses a race, it does not lose any class points if its stamina is less than 70%. This is to prevent Stamina from being used for sandbagging.
Stamina bars are provided on DefiHorse to help you determine how your racehorse's prospective performance will be affected in the next race.
Stamina is prepared to adapt in order to reflect the insights, suggestions, and analytical capabilities we have received. Key changes to Stamina are as follows:
Reducing the number of races evaluated in the stamina calculation from "number of races in the last 24 hours" to "number of races in the previous 12 hours." To be more specific, a racehorse will begin to regenerate stamina based on the time since its last race, but will not fully regenerate until the number of races in the previous 12 hours returns to the beginning of the S curve.
The Stamina bar is now visible in more places across the DefiHorse platform.
Allowing 99 percent of horses to compete in at least 5 to 8 races before stamina begins to dwindle. Allowing 99 percent of horses to compete in at least 5 to 8 races before stamina begins to dwindle.

The regulation that prevents horses from losing class points if they have less than 70% stamina has been changed from 70% to 90%. To clarify, if your racehorse has less than 90% stamina, it will not lose class points following this update.
When hovering over your racehorse to observe the percentage of lost stamina, the Stamina Bar now has more clarity. This will include a description of your racehorse's physical condition. Additional information and designs will be available soon.
